I like to keep plates, bowls..etc in my cabinets, and I keep my bigger cooking equip. in my lazy susan…cutlery is in my silverware drawer.

With the wonderful new drawer glides I love my every day dishes in deep drawers by my dishwasher and sink. Easy to get at for all family members and easy to put away when they have been washed. My cutlery is in a basket in my cabinet since the trays that are supposed to fit into the regular drawers never did fit right, I found it just as simple to toss all my cutlery in one basket for ease of putting away and grabbing them quickly.
Cups and glasses however are on my bottom shelf in the cabinet closest to my sink and coffee maker where they are handy to grab when you want a beverage.
I have an eat in kitchen with no formal dining room though so it just made sense to have these things put into these places in my house. I do have a formal china cabinet but that is reserved for my special dishes inherited from my grandmothers and a few pieces from my parents.
I found the cabinet to be very UNhandy when accessing dishes and putting them away.
Usually they end up in your kitchen where you feel most comfortable and natural when taking them out and putting them away.
