I am a recently diagnosed anemic. This is the type that is caused by iron-deficiency. Now, I’ve read several articles saying that green tea can inhibit one’s intake in iron. I know that it’s also said that if you’ve been a chronic tea drinker, it won’t really matter. I’ve played it safe and kept away. but, I’ve wondered, am I alright to drink white tea? Will this affect my iron intake in any way, and are there any risks for anemics associated with drinking this type of tea?

I don’t think it is any different. Black tea is also an iron-inhibitor, as is coffee. I believe it is something in the caffeine. White tea is caffeinated as well. You’d be fine drinking herbal tea. If you drink tea in the morning, just wait until lunch to eat your iron rich foods.
