Any recipes for a healthy sweetened iced green tea?

July 22nd, 2008 · 3 Comments

I'm a big fan of green tea…but I like it sweet. I enjoy Lipton's Pure Leaf because it does not contain High Fructose Corn Syrup, but it's very expensive. What's a good recipe for an sweet green tea? A little sugar is ok, but I'd like to keep it as low as possible. Any ideas?
Also, I'd like to avoid artificial sweeteners :)

      try one of these :)

      Iced Green Tea

      Ingredients
      4 cups boiling water
8 regular green tea bags (Celestial Seasonings)
      2 cups cold water
1/2 cup Splenda granular (no-calorie artificial sweetener)
      Directions
1In a saucepan, pour boiling water over tea bags; cover and steep 5 minutes.
2Remove tea bags from water, squeezing gently.
3Stir in 2 cups cold water and sweetener, stirring until sweetener dissolves.
4Serve over ice or let tea come to room temperature then serve over ice.

      Iced Green Tea
      For refreshing iced Green Tea,

      Boil 4 cups of water
Pour this water into a container with 3-5 tea bags
      Brew for 3-4 minutes
Sweeten to taste (try these natural products Stevia, Xylitol, or Agave Nectar)
      Chill or pour over ice.

I would brew it cold, using filtered water, to keep the healthy benefits of green tea. Also, Chai-spiced green tea tastes great. I add a tiny bit of Splenda or Stevia for sweetness after its cold brewed.
