Can my 11 and 12 year olds drink green, red, white teas?

August 4th, 2008 · 10 Comments

I drink a lot of herbal, green, red, white teas. My 11 and 12 year old boys are always wanting to drink them also. They only drink juice, milk, or water in the house and I was thinking that a cup of tea would benefit they're health. I want to find out if this is safe or not. Can my 11 and 12 year old sons drink these teas?

My 6 yr old drinks green and white teas, Ive never tried the red. I do mainly buy only the decaffeinated ones though.

Absolutely! In fact, you could use certain brews to wake them up in the morning, and then a nice, soothing chamomile at night to wind them down.

Tea would add a lot of help to their growing bodies!

Yes, as long as they like the teas, it's all good.
You might want to make it a bit cooler though, since they might burn their tongue.

Actually, all those teas, except red, since I don't know much about that, have very little caffeine. Herbal has none, actually!

They might think it's a bit bitter though(for the green, white, and red teas, herbal teas are usually naturally sweet), so you might want to add some honey or sugar.

Of course! It's good for them. But, try not to load them with too much caffeine!
