Chinese researchers claim that "the polyphenol compound in tea - especially Oolong tea - can help obese people battle the bulge."

The research was part of a 5 year study looking at genetic causes of obesity.

      From wikipedia.
Oolong (or wulong) tea sits somewhere between green and black tea in terms of fermentation. Black tea is fermented, Green Tea is unfermented, Oolong is semi-fermented.

Unfortunately the above research does not appear (yet) in an English medical journal - so we cannot delve into the details.

There is, however, a large body of research surrounding tea, - in particular its anti-oxidant properties. The Oolong Tea website points to various studies showing a possible connection between tea drinking and fat metabolism.

In many ways the health claims are similar to that of Green Tea - a healthy drink to be sure - but no miracle weight loss cure. I suspect that you would also need to be drinking considerable amounts of the tea to obtain any benefit.

Your best bet is to drink tea without milk, and avoid all the ready-to-drink tea and sugar mixes that are available.

Yes! Buy a 50 lb sack of Oolong Tea and carry it two or three miles every day, then lift it above your head 200 times, and you will lose weight!

Seriously, tea is not bad for you. Hydration is very important, getting enough water, and tea is better for this than coffee or soda pop, so long as you don't load it up with sugar. I believe it' s a mild diuretic too, which is good. But there's nothing about tea that makes you lose weight

Yes, drinking tea may help you lose weight!
Oolong tea is good, but I recommend green tea.
Oolong tea is like the semi green tea, because Oolong tea
is fermented. Both are high in antioxidants.
Green tea revs up your metabolism, definitely a good thing!
If you want to know more Google green tea's health benefits.
Also you can't let the tea you take in do all the work for you, you play a huge part in y our weight loss! You have to exercise and eat healthy, if you want to see improvement! :]
