When I make green tea there is always more tea that can be used out of the bag. I was thinking since it is healthy for me and no caffine why couldnt I make extra to give it to my dog.
Is there any reason I couldnt do this? I know chocolate might kill a dog, so I want to make sure this wont harm him. With no caffine I can't see why it would.
But would rather be sure than harm my puppy
Yes it is Decaf greentea that I use.
The person who said it works like a dieretic, thanks didnt think of that and that is why I asked. Good point.
Why would I want to give it to him? As a treat and becuase it is healthy for me thought it might be good for him too

Green tea does have caffeine, unless it is decaffeinated. If not, then no, it is not good for your dog.

It wouldn't be a safe idea I don't think. I love green tea - have around 5 cups a day - so there's never any left over for my dogs anyway… drink up!!

I'd pass on that one…puppies, babies and old people have problems with dehydration…can become dehydrated very quickly and it's very hard on them..if not killing them….green tea can act like lasix…why would you want to give this to your puppy???? That's my question to you…his system is way to young to handle anything like that.

Tea of all kinds is bad for dogs. If it's decaffeinated, though, I don't see any problem.

Green teas has some caffeine, but not nearly as much as coffee.
It's probably best to not let him have it, since there is no telling how it will effect him.
Save it and make iced tea.

Hi Geoff. The first thing I thought of was "what about the caffeine"? But then I saw that issue had already been taken into account.Being a pup,he probably needs plenty of fluids,if for nothing else to keep him hydrated in this most rambunctious of stages.Since it would be impossible to stand guard over him 24 hrs a day it would likely be impossible to keep an eye on everything he ingests. So,from where I stand,if he wants to have a "tea party" I'm saying "what the heck, why not"! I hope you're doing OK my friend!jc
