I never heard of anyones growth being stunted by Green Tea.It does have caffeine in it but a cup or two a day should hurt you unless your caffeine sensitive.

Green tea is usually regarded as a healthy drink, if not loaded with sugar or corn syrup of sorts.
One negative thing I know about green tea is that it could reduce iron absorption. So in case of young girls, eating less meats to maintain weights and having regular monthly women cycles, this could contribute to anemia, iron deficiency.

Green Tea and Iron Absorption
Due to their high tannin-content, teas, including green tea, have been shown to prevent iron absorption. While this effect is helpful in persons with too much iron, consuming several cups of green tea daily may not be a good idea for persons deficient in iron or susceptible to iron deficiency.
So drink moderately.
