does this actually work? i expect it does cuz it stains things…but wouldnt it just wash out pretty soon? my hair is brown but i want it to be a little bit darker, but not black, just darker brown. my hair is dark already, so would coffee work? or is my hair too dark to notice any difference the coffee would make? and also, would my hair smell like coffee all the time? lol
i really need to hear from people who have ACTUALLY tried this!! they would know how well it works best!
thanks everyone!

I have tried coffee. It isn't really noticeable though. I would reccomend a semi perminate rince, like the napro live ones. They make your hair really shiny and only a little difference in hair colour. Washes out after washes so its great for a special occasion.

i tried this once, and it's totally a load of crap.
it's okay if you want your hair to be like half a shade darker temporarily, because it washes off in like two days.
if you want a not-processing solution to making your hair a little darker, use henna. that's what i ended up doing.
you could also go to an organic grocery store (like whole foods or maybe trader joe's) and get organic/all natural hair dye. it works really well and can be very subtle, and it isn't bad for your hair at all.
