Hey,
I'm a big time tea drinker and am always brewing my own custom tea creations =)
but i was wondering, sometimes at work i put a Green Tea bag in a water bottle, cold water.. maybe add a pack of splenda and just shake it up, let it sit and enjoy in a few minutes.
Do I still get the vitimans/minerals i do from my warm water brewed tea? or am i just simply enjoying the green tea taste?
Thanks in advance, i'll give a best answer when it lets me =)
ciao
thank you all for your answers, any other answers/comments on the topic are also welcome.

I don't think you get AS MANY nutrients…
The hot water opens the "pores" of the tea leaves and releases the colour, flavour and healthy thingamajigs

hot water fights infection better than cold water does. If your sick then drink it with hot water. But the vitmains/minerals doesn't matter on the temperture of the water. P.S I do the same thing with spenlda with the green tea!!! LOL

I think you get very little vitamins or minerals from tea. Don't worry about it.

Well I usually use hot water and make tea the night before in the same water bottle. I put it in my fridge overnight and take it in the morning. I don't know whether or not you get less good stuff with cold water, but this way you know you're getting the same. Sometimes I even make the hot tea with less water and just put ice in it to make it cold. I avoid making it with cold water though.

I like to drink matcha. It is ground whole green tea leaves, and great hot or cold. You just mix the powder with water or milk or whatever and you have ALL of the nutrients because you are drinking the whole leaf.
It is a little different from the traditional green tea flavor - I think that it tastes a bit like spinach when mixed with just water. I like to mix the powder with orange juice for a tasty breakfast!
