It's the ammonia/urea that kills the grass. You'll need to find out if 'black tea' neutralizes the ammonia/urea.
It the same sort of thing with pig feces. That's why pig poo smells so bad and is so bad for the environment.

I have never heard of that before, but I do know what you are talking about regarding killing grass. It's the super-ammonia laced urine that puts the yellow spots in your lawn!
I have a few areas where my dog favors and the grass there is pretty yellowed out despite lawn fertilizer, watering, etc!

You can certainly try it. It won't hurt the dog. Better yet get a product called Green-um. It's at petstores and on the internet.
Chemicals in dog pee kill the grass, and Green-um kills the chemicals.

I does not really kill the grass, it only burns or discolors it. If the dog goes potty in different places you will notice the "dead spots" turning green again. It is from the urea in the urine which is actually a fertilizer people treat their grass with. I do not know about tea for a dog but I know to much urea will burn the grass. You can limit the effects of #1 buy watering your yard often.

I know that spaying dish soap mixed with water on the lawn will help stop the ammonia from killing the grass.

Try Baking Soda in their water to neutralize the acidity. My vet said it wouldn't hurt them, and I tried it. It works!
