Does green tea help clear acne and acne scars?

I wouldnt say i have bad acne or even mild..but even one noticible pimple drives me nuts. i have discolorations on the sides of my cheeks where i used to have pimples and i hate them! so i heard that green tea helps get rid of the scars. is this true?
