So I've read that green tea can help you burn fat because it has catechins and EGCG. To save time and tea packets, let's say I brew a large pot of tea in the morning and later pour myself a cup. If I microwave that cup of tea, does it kill the catechins and EGCG fat burning aspects, rendering the consumption of the tea useless? My only purpose of drinking green tea is to burn fat.

microwaves do nothin except excite the molecules (heat does exactly the same thing). Faster moving molecules gives us the impression of heat. If the molecules get really excited, they move so fast bumping into each other that they knock molecules into the air(steam).
