does white tea have the same health benefits as green tea does?

November 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments

ive heard about all the great benefit green tea has, & how it aids in weight loss by boosting metabolism..but the thing is i cant stand its taste :S i tried white tea & it was much better (no bitter aftertaste) ..
anyway i was wondering if white tea has the same benefits & metobolism boosting properties green tea has, & whether i can benefit from either if i added a little artificial sweetner or sugar 2 improve the taste..
also, is there an optimum time 2 drink green or white tea?
i appreciate ur help & would prefer having a trusted source cited =) thx!

I use a Green Tea tablet with Hoodia. I had the same issue of not liking the taste of the green tea. So far it has worked great no jittery feeling like with diet pills and it so far so good. you can get it at wal-mart for $4 for 30 day supply it is Mega-T Green Tea. Have a great day!

Just a quick note first about your green tea tasting bitter. There could be a couple of reasons as to why it tastes that way. One: You are steeping it for too long. You really should only steep green tea for about a minute. Two: The water you use is too hot. Green tea (and white tea) are very sensitive to water temp. If the water is too hot, it will actually burn the leaves and leave a bitter aftertaste. Be sure to use hot (about 175 degrees), but not boiling water.

White tea has the most antioxidants, so it really is better for detoxifying the body and boosting your immune system. Green tea is also good for boosting immune system. If you are looking for tea that is more for weight loss and boosting metabolism, drink oolong teas. They aid with your digestion, and boost your metabolism…and a lot more than green tea. This is something you would want to drink everyday to keep in your system. One in the morning, and then one later in the afternoon to help boost your metabolism since it tends to slow down at that time.

As far as sweetners… go for organic sugar as it is easier on the body to digest, not to mention it tastes so much better! Honey is also great! You could also try adding dried fruits/herbs in your tea when steeping.
