it has caffeine, but not as much as coffee or soda. it comes from the same plant as other teas, like green or black, but it is processed differently. So all of those teas will have caffeine. The weight loss claim could be true if you exercise and watch what you eat. I think you'll lose weight because you'll stop drinking high calorie drinks like soda and juices.
