I read in article that Green tea is actually bad for you because it contains high levels of fluroide and aluminum.

this bothers me because I was drinking about 4-5 cups a day for months thinking this was healthy.
Has anyone heard of this???

Mercola scares me. Their whole purpose is to undermine people's sense of security, and then offer their own "solutions." I don't like the way they jerk their readers around.
Having said that, tea, whether black or green, is a food source of fluoride. Fluoride is not at all toxic at the levels found in tea. I am glad to have a source of fluoride in my diet, as my water is not fluoridated. I don't get cavities.
Aluminum is not a danger, either, in the levels found in tea. We don't need any aluminum in our diets, but it is not a toxin at the levels found in tea.
As for your thyroid, the element that affects your thyroid is iodine. Tea is not a significant source of iodine.
