Im looking for green tea that you get in jap/thai restaraunts? every time i buy green tea from the market its not the same. ive bought 10 differents kinds and cannot find the right one. does anybody know what they use?

They use all different kinds. And Thai and Japanese places probably don’t use the same kinds.
Japanese green tea has many different varieties, but I think the kind you are familiar with is the loose leave tea known as “sen-cha”. It’s the most basic and common form of Japanese green tea.
You won’t find that in a normal American grocery store. You probably have to go to a Japanese market or a specialty store.
Oh, and it’s generally considered *extremely* offensive to refer to Japanese as “Jap”. I know you didn’t intend that, but just FYI.
