Green tea?

March 27th, 2008 · 5 Comments

I heard green tea is good for your metabolism and losing weight…but I find it a little bitter….will adding sugar or honey make the effect of Green tea disappear? or is there another way to make it taste more yummy?

thanks :)

blend it with some fruits and ice(apples, pear, watermelon).:D add a teaspoon of sugar if you like. but not too much, or you won't lose weight.

yes, sweetening it will undo the good benefits, adding a squueze of citrus is supposed to enhance the benefits though, to help it not be bitter, don't let the tea bag sit in the water for more than five minutes, that makes it bitter, and ya it can taaste plain, and pretty boring, but small price to pay for such good benefits, and calorie burning

Proper green tea shouldn't be bitter. What kind do you buy? If you buy it from an asian market, it shouldn't be bitter. I'm not a fan of American version of green tea, they add weird flavors to it that I just don't like. If you're using traditional green tea, it might be that you're using too many tea leaves, try diluting it with more water. I really wouldn't recommend honey or sugar, just don't think they mix well with green tea, but maybe you can try a little lemon which I actually hear helps your body absorb the catechins in green tea. Catechins are good antioxidents in green tea. So yeah… give that a try.

What I learned from my mom is to put a spoonful of honey and squeeze half a lemon to my green tea to make it taste better. It doesn't totally get rid of the green tea taste, but the honey and lemon make it taste yummy for me ;)

      You should try it :)
