I heard it is good for weight loss. I drink tea regulary, just plain tea. I am wondering if this is something I should add into my routine?
So does this tea help with weight loss? Or is that just a myth?

Oolong tea is a very common tea that tastes very much like Regular tea. I drink it unsweetened everyday.

Oolong is a specific tea where Camelia Sinensis is grown above 500 meters. The leaves once gathered are put through a process to oxidize and dry the leaf often referred to as fermentation. Oolong is most often the tip and one or two mature leaves hand roled. The fermentation (oxidation more specifically) is somewhere between 30 to 70 percent. Oolong taste can vary greatly depending on soil altitude region and rainfall. It should be noted Oolong is not black tea in any strict sense nor is it green or white tea. Oolong is a class on its own and as such as a standard which it has to meet to be considered Oolong.

Oolong tea (sometimes referred to as Wu-Long) has gotten a lot of marketing and press lately for the weight-loss benefits that it purportedly has. Since this tea comes from the same exact plant as Black tea, green tea, and white tea (Camellia Sinensis) I can’t help but think that a lot of the hype is just marketing. That said, I’ve talked to too many people that have tried it and liked it to completely poo-poo the idea that it works. It doesn’t have to be expensive, maybe it’s worth a try. Choice Organics sells an organic version of it for less than $5 a box. I’ve tried it (not for weight loss, I just like the taste), and it’s one of my favorite Oolong teas!
