How do you make herbal tea?

July 30th, 2008 · 4 Comments

I have recently been drawn to herbs and also to tea so I was wondering if anyone could help me with information about making homemade tea out of herbs from the garden or purchased herbs :)

Thanks :)

Love Light and Peace to all :)

it really all depends on what herb you use. Different herbs use different parts of the plant for the teas. If you research different herbs, it will tell you what medicinal properties are in each and as well as what part of the plant is used. Once this is established, what I do is take that part of the plant, put it into a sieve or cheese cloth, add the hot water and let it steep to the desired strength.
Be careful tho, some herbal teas can cause diarrhea, constipation, stomach upset.. and some are poison.

Most of the time it is boiling the leaves in water, but some times it is the root or the stems. You need to research the herb first.
