i've been trying to stop drinking soda pop, and i've picked up white and green tea lately (iced tea). is the stuff in the bottle healthier than the packets to go, because those are a lot cheaper……
basically, is switching from soda to tea good? and does that iced tea have caffine in it?

I believe both of those teas are high in caffeine.
Look for caffeine-free tea. Tea is a good thirst quencher, unlike soda which will dehydrate you more.
Try sticking to regular tea with lemon. I think Arizona tea has a caffeine-free line you can find at Walmart

Soda to iced tea is a very good switch, espically when talking about green and white tea. The bottled tea has antioxidents and less bad things like sugars/carbs/fat/etc. Iced tea has some caffeine but not as much as soda. White tea has a better taste and is more refreshing and crisp but green tea is better for you and has more antioxidents. Red tea is also a good option.

As healthy as diet soda, not at all…

Unless it is REAL green tea, you're not helping yourself with it any more than you are with pop.
real green tea would mean the packets you drop into hot water.

check the labels. If one of the ingredients is high fructose syrup, then it's as bad for you as regular soda. I'm a hot tea drinker and feel that those bottled teas do not have a significant amount of antioxidants and EGCG since you're never quite sure how long they've been sitting in the bottles.
If you drink hot tea, at least you know it's been seeping in the water for a few minutes, and you'll be drinking it in a few minutes, and you can sweeten it with whatever you want. Sorry but that's just my opinion. But check the labels. That's the key.
edit: oh, sometimes those bottled teas contain some green tea, or white tea concentrate which I can't believe to be totally beneficial. drink hot tea, give it a shot, you'll be glad you did!
