I'm a shameless caffeine addict and I'm trying to switch from strong coffee over to green tea, but I don't want to lose the caffeine in translation, so to speak. Coffee jitters were too much and I hear that the theanine content in green tea counteracts the caffeine jitters, somewhat.
So, what about a habit of 2 green tea bags steeped–for a few minutes–per 250 ml of hot water..? And, maybe 2-3 cups of this per day?
Remember I'm used to having caffeine in excess and I'm thinking this may even be safer than the coffee habit. Anyone?

According to this wiki, you're now consuming 30% less caffeine than you used to… so that seems like a step in the right direction. Avoid powdered matcha however, it contains MORE caffeine than coffee.
I'd also try spreading out the tea bags; if you use 6 bags per day, make 6 cups of tea instead of three. That way you're not overloading your liver every time you have a cup of tea.
Then you might eventually be able to cut back little by little.
