You really shouldn't drink too much because it does have caffeine. My trainer recommend me to drink it before meals without sugar or honey …

      Hi, Mary!

Unfortunately, there are no magic bullets.

However, there are realistic ways of increasing your metabolism. It is a matter of installing several habits and keeping with them. They will stop working if you stop using them.

Here are the best four ways of increasing your metabolism. They work well together and they are sustainable. (You might wish to get the blessing of your physician before significantly changing any exercise habits.)

First, rather than eating 3 meals per day take the same amount of food and divide it into 6 smaller meals per day. EACH meal must contain at least 15 grams of protein for a female (or at least 20 grams of protein for a male). This will significantly speed up your metabolism and curb food cravings.

Second, improve what you are eating. Get plenty of proteins from natural sources. In addition, eliminate all intake of refined (processed) carbohydrates such as bread, rolls, buns, pasta, tacos, chips, cakes, biscuits, cereals, sodas, corn syrup, etc. When processed, all carbohydrates become sugar.

Do not eat more than about 70 grams of carbohydrates daily and get them all from natural (unprocessed) sources such as vegetables and fruits (preferably organic).

Third, do serious strength training twice a week. Concentrate on the basic exercises such as squats, deadlifts, presses, rows, chins, and dips. Learn perfect exercise technique and use as much weight as possible. This will increase your lean muscle mass, which is a METABOLIC FURNACE. The more lean muscle mass you have, the more calories you will burn 24 hours a day.

Fourth, do regular cardio. Fitness exercise is great for burning calories during and immediately after exercise. For mild cardio, I suggest working up to walking 4 miles in just under 1 hour four times weekly.

There are other aids (for example, intense cardio) as well.

At the bottom of this reply, I have added two links to a free Internet resource. The resource will give you the free plans and options for diet, cardio, and strength training.

If you install these plans, your metabolic rate will greatly improve.

I hope this information helps you, Mary.

      All my best wishes.
