I used to be a very heavy soda drinker and now have become addicted to Lipton Green Tea with Citrus. I no longer drink sodas. Is this necessarily any better? I am bad with interpreting labels.

Sure it's better, but you shouldn't drink too much of one thing either.
Just bought this product yesterday for the first time, and it's really good!

yes of course it is…. soda has all that sugary nasty stuff put together to make you hyper and stuff like that. Sodas from the past have been known to give cancer, for example, to you know mellow yellow? they stopped selling it three yrs. ago, because that year, they found an ingredient inside of it known to give cancer… and liptons isn't bad for you… its actually very healthy…

There's a slight possibility that ingesting Windex could be better than drinking soda…not really…but my point is that sodas are horrible. They are little more than sugar and artificial flavorings. Green tea at least has some antioxidants, although you'll get more of the health benefits by brewing your own. Premade stuff is full of sugar, chemicals and preservatives.

Here are the ingredients, if you'll take a gander at that second ingredient there:
Water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, green tea, sodium hexametaphosphate, ascorbic acid (to protect flavor), honey, natural flavors, phosphoric acid, sodium benzoate (preserves freshness), potassium sorbate (preserves freshness), calcium disodium edta (to protect flavor), caramel color, yellow 5, blue1.
The reason you like it so much is that you're essentially drinking sugar water. Sugar and citric acid before tea even enters the picture! Try brewing yourself some tea at home, add honey, and shake it up. If you're going to add sugar, make sure it's a product like sugar in the raw…basically white sugar shouldn't be used if you can help it.
Try "Wild Strawberry" tea from this company…it's very, very delicious and sweet with a little sugar or honey.
There's a free $5 coupon in there for you, too.
