If so why do some Americans want to rewrite the Christain laws, and go agaist the will of our creator?
There are several great theories here. By the way there is no spell check on my page for some reason for the one complaing with out answering my question.

They believe they have the moral authority to do anything.

I don't know anyone who worships oil and I'm in the business. Of course it drives the economy (literally and figuratively) so a lot of investors want oil prices to be steady and hopefully lucrative but no one worships it. It's a business.

BECAUSE they are not "Christian" by any stretch of the imagination. People are "Christian" these days because it's popular. it's a fad that started during the Ray-Gun years. It creates a social network for people and now it is being used to garner power and run the country. BUT guess what. People have it EXACTLY Like the want it in the country now. If they didn't, they would do something about it.

What does oil have to do with the golden calves? Our economy is run on oil. Should we quit eating or drinking to? We need the oil, it's how a modern society operates. Would it be better if we all went back to wood burning stoves and the horse and buggy?

Firstly, I do nOT Subscribe to any facet of the Judeo/Christian/Islamic belief systems. I consider the 'god' of Abraham, Moses and Mohammed to be a lie…Thereby, the story of Moses' struggle to keep his people faithful to the 'one god' is merely that…A STORY!!
But you don't have to be a Bible Thumper to realize that uncontrolled greed is an evil thing that CONSUMES politicians, some businessmen, and MOST television evangelists.
There most definitely IS a god, but MY god can have NOTHING to do with falsehood! He is truth at its purest…and greed (or the love of money) is fed only with lies, mis-information and taking advantage of others.

The Golden Calf was the original "God" of the Hebrew.
He was the one who created the world in Genesis, not the more modern God of the Hebrews. So techically, you are not worshiping the creator, but the new God of the Hebrews.

Actually, one could argue that Christianity is the ultimate in idolatry. Any form of religion that believes that God is some form of manifestation of an earthly being is an idolater. Whether a person believes God is a cow or a person is an expression of idolatry.

Is breathing oxygen any different than worshipping Moloch?
By the way, what form of transportation do you use? And how do you heat your house? Do you have plastic products nearby? Made from petroleum, you know. One last question. Can you spell "hypocrite"? If you use oil in any way, you are part of your perceived problem.

No, and I don't worship either one.

I know what you mean, even if some of these clowns don't. Yes, anything that people put more importance in than God and His word is what they truly worship. They can call it business all day, but when people are lying, stealing, killing, and deceiving over something, they have put more importance in it than God. We are seeing greed and hunger for power- which is not the sign of godly men. I do not know why some Americans who call themselves Christians continue to blindly support politicians who have no one's best interests at heart but their own. Faith without question is what you have in God, not man.
PS. I'm sick of people saying we can't get by without oil. The powers that be in the oil sector have kept alternatives from being developed. The technology has been available for over 30 years, maybe longer, and the truth is if we had been forward thinking, we wouldn't be in this mess now.
