It depends on what you think is “better”. Are you talking nutritionally or taste-wise? White tea is picked from the same camellia sinensis bush as green tea. However white tea is only the unopened buds that are covered in a white fur. It is harder to harvest you get less yield, so white tea is often more expensive that comparable green teas. White tea has a higher level of antioxidants and contains less caffeine that green tea. It also has a much more subtle, and sweeter taste that is easily ruined by water that is too hot (so can green tea).
Green tea is picked at varying stages of maturation, but the leaves are fully opened and have lost the downy fur. Green tea has many different flavors depending on how it is processed, but it typically tastes grassier and more astringent. I prefer the taste of a good green tea over white tea, personally. Try several varieties of both and see what you like!
