Black Tea and Coffee contain a harsh acid that can harm the body. However, green tea has been shown to be very beneficial to the body without the same damaging effects. Is it possible that this type of tea could be an exception? Caffeine is NOT an issue since LDS members are allowed to drink energy drinks and sodas (pop) containing caffeine, so please don't mention this as a reason.
Therefore, caffeine isn't a factor or reason not to drink Green Tea.
Thank you and may God bless you.
C'mon! I asked for LDS members, not LSD people. Please, if you don't have a clue, don't try to answer. Make an honest effort and read my entire question before answering. Otherwise, you are wasting your time.

They key word there is "can" not will but "can". It CAN harm the body perhaps….but doesn't mean it WILL.
Further too much acid can rot one's teeth also.
If someone wants to drink black tea and coffee, that is his or her decision.
I don't think it would be too harmful as long as they don't chug a jug a day.

Green tea, or Chinese tea also has caffeine in it, and isn't all that healthy, from what I understand. Perhaps you meant herbal tea. Many members drink herbal tea. I like Cammomile, myself. Just stay away from the blends; they typically have English tea or Chinese tea in them. That's my understanding…

I've had multiple seminary teachers tell me that if I read "tea" on the label, I should steer clear. I've never really liked tea myself, so I haven't put it into practice too often. But they did show me that some types of tea actually have TEA in them, and others are just herbs. It is my understanding that green tea has actual TEA in it. If you read the ingredients, and it says "tea," that's how you know.
I do know that my friend who was getting ready to go on his mission was asked to stop drinking green tea before he left.
I hope this helps at least a little.
I did want to say that I think it's great that you're wondering. Seriously, just pray about it, and maybe ask a leader in the ward near you, and find out for yourself.

Personally, I avoid green tea. It does have some health benefits (though taken in large quantities, it can cause liver damage), but those health benefits can be obtained from other, non-borderline sources.

The churchs standards as far as I’ve been taught is to drink neither black, NOR green tea. Those are the two that are bad for you as they contain Tanic acid. That is what is used to tan leather, so think of what it is doing to your insides. If you want antioxidants, there are hundreds if not thousands of other sources to get them from. Using antioxidants is one of the lamest excuses I’ve ever heard to drink it.
