has anyone tried oolong tea (also known as wu-long or wu-ti)? i've read mixed reviews on whether it really helps with weight loss and was wondering if anyone has seen significant results.

Oolong tea is a strain of black tea from Asia. I've heard the myths that it helps you lose weight but they are untrue.

I've never tried it but I hear that it's really good for you. It lowers your cholestorol, reduces tumors and sickness, etc…It's just really good stuff! I will have to try it someday :)

If you drink tea instead of calorie heavy drinks such as sodas and dont make it sweet tea then it will help you lose weight…if you expect something in tea to make you lose weight then the jury is still out on that

Oolong is naturally sweet and delish! I've been drinking it for years. Sadly while it may perk your metabolism a little, its not going to help you lose weight. I would try diet and work outs for that.

Oolong tea is no different than other teas other than the fact that it's oxidized longer than green tea but not as long as standard black teas.

The only way it would help with weight loss is if you're replacing high-calorie drinks with the very low calorie tea. The caffeine also might help speed up your metabolism, but only negligibly.

I used it all last year. It worked well to get rid of excess water weight, but in the end, I didn't see any significant results. I believe it is as effective as coffee, but has antioxidants that coffee doesn't.

oolong tea as other teas are a good supplement to a good weight loss program. But just drinking it won't make you lose weight. You need to eat healthy, exercise and watch your diet. I think that tea in general is a great alternative to other high calorie drinks like soda and juices.
