I've never tried these two together, but separately I have, and I know that many teas have excellent health benefits, such as anti-oxidants, stress-reduction, and properties that reduce the risk of certain cancers. As far as losing a lot of pounds in a short amount of time, I'm not sure tea can do this COMPLETELY alone, but it can certainly aid in the process if you're making other healthy lifestyle choices. Tea does supposedly give the metabolism a boost and it has also been said that it can aid in the oxidation of fat, but overall, I believe tea helps your body function better, and if your body is functioning properly then it will be more prone to shed the weight when you do make the effort to lose the pounds. Also, make sure that the weight loss you attain isn't purely from over consumption of caffeine, as many teas do contain it and caffeine suppresses the appetite as well as revs up the body in general. It may initially seem like you're losing weight this way, but losing weight improperly usually results in gaining it back. Caffeine is also said to be too bad for you in small amounts(some say even good for you), but anything consumed in excess is not the best way to go. I would say that overall, tea consumed a couple or a few times a day is amazing for your body and you will be pleased with how you feel.
