Question about drinking white tea during pregnancy?

August 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment

I have a green/white tea mix that I swear by whenever I have a cold. It works awesomely. But I know that greean tea MAY effect cell development in the baby (I’m 7 months along); I can’t find much on white tea. Does anyone have any insight on this? It’s all-natural, but so is raspberry leaf tea, and drinking that during pregnancy can cause miscarriages and pre-term/early labor. If it’s not recommended, does anyone have any other suggestions? I have an OB/GYN appointment tomorrow, and plan on asking him, but if anyone else has any other suggestions……I’ve been taking one Tylenol PM at night (safe during pregnancy) for the past 2 nights and drink plenty of fluids, and take my pre-natals, but can’t seem to kick this….

I know that some teas are not safe during pregnancy, but my doctor okayed green tea. I drank tonnes of it during both my preganancies (as did my sisters ). I didn’t realize it was not safe. White tea comes from green tea, just the berry is picked at a different time of the year. I guess if you are not sure, I would stay away from it to be safe.
