constipated? i dunno…this last month i have been increasing my green tea consumption…basically drinking green tea everyday along with water. before i only drank green tea like once or twice a week. well, lately i've been really constipated and im eating the same things i ate last month. probably just on different days. could it be because of the green tea?

i have never heard of green tea making a person constipated. it has caffeine which can increase the peristalsis (movement in the intestines). and liquid helps keep you from being constipated. look at your liquid intake. you may want to consider more juices and more water than green tea.

Tea dehydrates you. Basic rule.
If you need 8 glasses of water a day and you drink 2 glasses of tea, you should drink extra 2 glasses of water to replace fluid loss from tea.

The tea has nothing to do with your constipation… maybe it's on your food… Are you taking enough fibers??? 8 glasses of water is not enough anymore, in todays lifestyle, foods are more toxicated than before, at least 3 liters of water a day will do for a healthier you… Good luck!

Like ordinary tea - too much will dehydrate but in small "doses" (e.g if it's something you drink twice a day at most) it should have the opposite effect, keeping your bowels active.
